| Rev Battiest is the daughter of Margaret Billy Battiest, Choctaw, currently the District Superintendent of the Northern District of the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference and Samuel Battiest, Choctaw, a former United Methodist minister. She has a BA from Oklahoma City University and an M Div from Drew University, The Theological School. She proudly became a Church & Community Worker in June 2008.
